A lenticular (lens) shaped cloud stands over Lhotse (27,923 feet / 8511 meters, above sea level), the world's fourth highest peak. The tremendous south face of Lhotse rises 2 vertical miles in a steep slope averaging a 55 degree angle. Over 50 million years, global tectonic forces drove India against Asia, lifting these former sea bed layers to the top of the world. The Himalaya are still rising 2 inches every year.
