Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal: Tengboche Monastery (12,690 feet elevation) was first built in 1918 by Tibetan Buddhists, then rebuilt in 1934 and 1993 after earthquake & fire. 1993 wall paintings by the famous Tibetan painter Tarke-la adorn the shrine room of the rebuilt Tengboche Monastery, depicting the Bodhisattva lives of the Buddha.
